Prizm Content Connect v7.0 for SharePoint 2010 is a major release with a number of differences from our v6.x product. The following fixes and enhancements were added in this version:
- DRM Settings - Prizm DRM settings are now stored in a Document Library. See Upgrading from v6.x to v7.0 for more information.
- Annotations - Prizm annotations are now stored in a SharePoint list in v7.0 instead of the c:\markups folder on the SharePoint server. Annotations behavior has been simplified to now load automatically for a document instead of the user selecting an annotation to load.
- Installation - The installation process was simplified and improved in Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint v7.0. There is now a single installer for the Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint integration components, and there is a configuration page for the PCC services hostname and port and temp cache folder location.
- Permissions Configuration - The Prizm permissions configuration process was improved in Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint v7.0. The DRM configuration pages are easier to use and can be accessed from a SharePoint site or document library. Permissions for including annotations functionality in the viewer for different users can now be specified using a configuration page. By default all annotations functionality is disabled.
- Logging - Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint v7.0 writes logging information to the SharePoint ULS log.
- Diagnostics - A diagnostics tool is included, which can be used to extract information about your SharePoint environment and run tests for various issues.
- Web Tier - The signature of the Prizm Content Connect web tier was modified in v7.0, so you will need to replace any direct API calls you are using.
- SharePoint Support - Prizm Content Connect for SharePoint v7.0 was developed for SharePoint 2010. Support for SharePoint 2007 has been discontinued with this release.
- Components Removed - The Doc Lib Tree and WebDav components are no longer shipped with v7.0.
